Whistly fabric manufacturing at Bluesign certified partner facility in Vietnam

Our fabric is made using fabric supplied by a bluesign® System Partner, ensuring it meets strict environmental and chemical safety standards

We believe good design goes beyond function and appearance. Choosing certified materials reflects our commitment to making products that last longer, perform better, and are made with greater responsibility. Whistly products are designed for longevity, with the intention they can be upcycled at the end of their life. As we grow, we’ll continue prioritising durable materials that reduce impact without compromising performance, because the places we explore matter as much as the gear we take there.

Bluesign® certified

Our fabric is supplied by a bluesign® System Partner, ensuring it meets strict environmental and chemical safety standards across the entire supply chain. It is the gold standard for environmental health and safety in textile manufacturing. It ensures that water and air emissions are clean, worker safety is prioritized, and hazardous substances are eliminated from the beginning of the manufacturing process.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

The fabrics used in Whistly products has been manufactured by a partner who meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, a globally recognised certification that ensures textiles are tested for harmful substances and proven safe for human use. Every component of the fabric, from fibres and dyes to coatings and finishes assessed against strict safety limits.

C0 Water repellent coating

Traditional water-repellent coatings often use PFCs (perfluorocarbons), which are "forever chemicals" that persist in the environment. We use a C0 finish, which is a PFC-free water repellent. It keeps your belongings dry while keeping harmful chemicals out of our waterways.

300 Denier DTY Polyester

Whistly products are made using 300 denier DTY polyester, chosen for its balance of durability, flexibility, and lightweight performance. DTY (Draw Textured Yarn) polyester has a soft hand feel with added strength, making it ideal for gear that’s packed, unpacked, and used repeatedly on the move.

Manufacturing

At Whistly, we're pragmatic about where we make our products because it's honest and allows us to deliver great gear responsibly at fair prices. We'd love to say everything is made locally, and we do manufacture locally when it's commercially viable, but our Vietnamese manufacturing partner brings specialized expertise in technical fabrics, decades of experience maintaining consistent quality, and the ability to deliver better value. Regardless of location, what matters most is upholding fair labor practices, rigorous quality standards, and environmental responsibility. Being pragmatic means choosing the right manufacturing approach for each product, ensuring our gear remains accessible and offers genuine value for money while maintaining our commitment to responsible production.
